Electricity Grid Companies Collaborating for Joint Development
- We find synergies and economies of scale

Elinorr is an association for electricity grid companies in southern/middle Norrland and Dalarna that collaborate to address future challenges within the industry. Through cooperation, economies of scale, and competence supply, Elinorr offers its members the opportunity to easily and timely meet the new requirements and challenges from national and especially European legislation, as well as adapt their operations accordingly.

Elinorr´s monitoring of external factors, advocacy efforts, and capacity to find common solutions enable its members to maintain competence and organizational development. In this way, Elinorr contributes to the development of local societal benefits with a focus on reliability, delivery assurance, sustainability, but primarily on the electricity grid customer.

The purpose of Elinorr is to develop the competence and ability of its members to meet the future challenges of the electricity grid industry. We create efficient working groups that are tailored to the needs of the members.

Elinorr operates primarily at a local level but also participates in the national and European societal debates.

Influencing work at EU level

Through membership in CEDEC, a European industry organization for local and regional energy companies, and proactive participation in the European association for network companies, EU DSO Entity, Elinorr conducts highly successful advocacy work at the EU level.

Elinorr engages in proactive work at the EU level, a focus that few other Swedish energy companies prioritize. Through this effort, Elinorr can convey specific needs in major issues affecting our industry and operations, thereby influencing decisions made by European legislators. This work ensures that small local electricity grid companies can continue their operations.

Elinorr's increased advocacy efforts have positioned the association as a strong voice in the industry, enabling it to influence future legislation both in the EU and Sweden. This influence is exerted both on-site and remotely.

Through Elinorr's working group, the EU Group, this advocacy work can be intensified and expanded, allowing member companies to stay ahead with competence and knowledge of EU developments and how these will impact them in the short and long term.

The EU Group monitors, collects, sifts, and analyzes information, as well as acts on EU matters that Elinorr determines will affect our industry. The group draws conclusions and disseminates information to member companies in a summarized and understandable manner, explaining the implications for Elinorr's member companies. Through this process, member companies should be better equipped to act in the early stages if future legislative proposals require operational changes.

Energiforsk

We influence through funding in Energiforsk – a research organization with projects in the electricity sector. With our financing, we can influence which research and development projects are carried out within the electricity domain.

Competence Supply

Elinorr works on competence supply by sharing information and resources among member companies. Within Elinorr, there are working groups with specialized expertise tailored to the needs of the members.

These working groups contribute to increased competence supply, environmental monitoring, and training needs. Elinorr coordinates relevant training sessions that member companies can participate in, for example, to understand new requirements or meet future needs. Elinorr also offers legal services, providing member companies with quick access to tailored expertise in law, regulation, and compliance.

Economies of Scale

Elinorr - an Enabler for Common Solutions

Through collaboration within Elinorr's member companies, economies of scale can be achieved. Together, we obtain resource savings, financial gains, and expanded knowledge.

Within Elinorr, we conduct joint procurement, collaborate on research, engage internationally, and work together in working groups across various areas.

We gather the right expertise from member companies that monitor the environment, analyze, interpret new requirements and laws, solve complex tasks, and develop a common solution applicable to all member companies.

In this way, we effectively meet new requirements and changing regulations without burdening customers with increased costs. Member companies save time and resources while also being able to benefit from the knowledge and expertise of other member companies.

The economies of scale provide member companies with better economic conditions to continue being close to customers – with local markets and their own headquarters.
